The Restaurant
The Square Café is a boutique style restaurant located at the heart of Hingham Square. Opened in 2001, the Square Café is both a casual neighborhood gathering place and a Saturday night hot spot. The Square Café has become one of the busiest restaurants on the South Shore. And is the go to place for a business lunch, casual bite after work or fun night out with friends.
Upon entering the Square Café guests are greeted often by name by a friendly host or manager and led through the gorgeous Peter Niemitz designed dining room. The restaurant has natural and modern elements, crisp white tablecloths, leafy green walls and cherry hardwood floors. Its classic interior is comfortable, elegant and timeless.
The menu created by the talented Andrea Schnell is modern American with a French Asian influence. The straightforward, vibrant dishes are seasonally driven utilizing the best locally sourced, often organic ingredients. The flavors are crisp and clean with many items to choose from to suit different tastes and appetites. The menu is divided into three categories: Café Menu, Small Plates and Large Plates. The Café Menu provides guests with casual dining options such as burgers, sandwiches and salads. Small Plates are a complete meal in a smaller portion to accommodate less of an appetite or sharing. Large plates are regular sized portions and include many of our house specialties.
